A teenage heroin dealer tried to exploit a female customer by offering drugs in exchange for sex. The 18-year-old, Billy Horne, also sold crack cocaine near a children’s park.

When the client asked for credit, Horne responded, “I don’t know if I can – what would you do for it?” He then asked, “Would you let me f*** you?” This was noted as an aggravating factor by the judge.

Horne appeared at Reading Crown Court on December 23. He was arrested in Newbury on November 4 while riding a bicycle and conducting what police believed was a drug transaction.

Police found wraps of heroin and crack cocaine, along with a knife wrapped in a sock. Horne admitted to possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and possessing a bladed article in public.

His defense attorney, George Joseph, stated that Horne had been influenced by older dealers and wanted to fit in. He described Horne as “an affable and intelligent young man” who was exploited by more experienced criminals.

Judge Alan Blake noted Horne had no prior convictions and had faced significant personal challenges, including losing his father and having a mother in rehab. Horne was found with 99 drug wraps and cash, and his phone showed he was acting as a runner for drugs.

Judge Blake expressed concern over Horne’s willingness to trade drugs for sexual favors, highlighting the exploitation of others. He acknowledged Horne’s youth and naivety, urging him to seek legal employment.

Considering the overcrowded prison system, Judge Blake sentenced Horne to 20 months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months. Horne must also complete up to 20 days of rehabilitation and perform 100 hours of unpaid community work.
