Dartford Crossing in Kent faces overnight closures and diversions Jan 6-12 for maintenance and resurfacing works on tunnels and roads
Overnight Restrictions at Dartford Crossing
The Dartford Crossing connects Kent, Essex, and much of the wider south-east via the M25. It will have overnight restrictions during the first full week of the new year, starting January 5.
National Highways is conducting planned maintenance and resurfacing on both the tunnels and the bridge. The northbound West Tunnel and other parts of the route will face repeated closures.
On January 5 and 6, the northbound West Tunnel will be closed for maintenance from 10 PM to 5:30 AM.
Closure Schedule
On the night of January 6 into January 7, there will be more extensive shutdowns. The roundabout and link road at Junction 1B will close for resurfacing. Additional northbound restrictions will occur at Junction 2, Junction 1B, and the West Tunnel.
These closures and diversions will repeat nightly through January 12.

All works are expected to finish by the morning of January 12. Diversions will use both the National Highways network and local authority routes.
