Essex bus routes see timetable updates across 18 services

Bus Service Changes in Essex Effective January 4

The changes took effect on Sunday, January 4. These changes impact services in north, mid, and south Essex, including key routes serving Colchester.

North Essex Route Adjustments

In north Essex, four routes have been affected. The 51 and 52 services, which serve Colchester Hospital, have minor timetable adjustments. The 54 service, running between Greenstead and Osborne Street in Colchester, has also been changed. Additionally, the 104 route operates between Stanwell Street in Colchester and Harwich Bus Station.

Mid-Essex Service Revisions

Seven services in mid-Essex have seen minor timetable revisions to improve reliability. These include the C1, C7, 31/331/332/333, 70/170, 71/X71/371/372, and 336 routes. The 59 service now has an improved Sunday frequency, with buses running hourly throughout the day. This enhancement is funded by Essex County Council.

South Essex Timetable Changes

In south Essex, changes have been made to the B1, 22, 27, and 28 services to improve punctuality. The B5 route has more significant changes. Its Monday to Friday afternoon timetable is revised so that all journeys now run the full length of the route between Basildon Bus Station, Janus House, and Gardiners Lane North, operating up to every 15 minutes. Minor changes to the 20 service include one morning journey in each direction being rerouted on schooldays.
