Firefighters Respond to Blaze in South Woodham Ferrers
Firefighters faced large flames at a property on Wickford Road, South Woodham Ferrers, around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
Crews worked through the night to put out the fire. An investigation has started to find out what caused the blaze.
An Essex Fire and Rescue spokesperson stated, “Firefighters have been on scene working hard to extinguish the fire throughout the night.”
They added, “Crews remain at the scene this morning to dampen down remaining hotspots.”
The spokesperson also mentioned, “An investigation will be carried out to find the cause of the fire.”
Essex Fire confirmed that the property was empty when the fire started, and no injuries occurred.
Thick smoke and red flames were visible from the property, especially through the top floor’s veranda.
Hoses used in the firefighting caused significant water runoff, complicating the operation and road conditions.
“Water runoff from firefighting operations has made the road very icy, so please take extra care,” said a spokesperson.
