First Essex introduces new fare structure in Basildon and Southend, with adult singles starting at £2 and period ticket price adjustments
First Essex Announces Fare Changes
The firm states that the changes represent a “fairer distance-based structure.” This structure will allow fares to better reflect how far you travel.
Adult single fares will start from £2 and £2.50. They will rise to the maximum £3 national fare cap for longer journeys.
Additionally, there will be price changes to some period tickets. The All Essex ticket ranges will be simplified and combined into a new Network ticket.
These changes come just days after First Essex introduced new timetables for several services to improve punctuality.
The new timetables affect 18 routes across the county. This includes seven in south Essex. All new changes to fares and revised timetables can be viewed on the First Essex website at www.firstbus.co.uk/essex.
