Zurich Community Trust Partners with Leeds Charities

Zurich Community Trust is partnering with two charities in Leeds. This three-year initiative is worth £20,000 each year for both charities.

Funding for Local Charities

The funding will support The Growing Zone and Flourishing Families. Zurich UK employees selected these charities.

Flourishing Families Leeds (FFL) helps vulnerable families. They run projects like cookery clubs, literacy initiatives, and wellbeing support.

Last year, WLD featured a cookery group at St Peter’s Primary School in Bramley. This group addresses food poverty and poor nutrition. It teaches families to prepare healthy, low-cost meals from scratch.

Wider Commitment to Charities

These local partnerships are part of a larger commitment. Zurich Community Trust is investing £1,677,000 to support 31 charities across the UK. This is about £559,000 each year.

The Growing Zone is a community garden project. It serves people with disabilities or learning needs. The funding will help keep it open and support essential roles like a project leader, a craft specialist, and an administrator.

She added, “By partnering with The Growing Zone and Flourishing Families, we’re helping create safe spaces, opportunities, and hope for families and individuals in Leeds. This is about more than funding – it’s about empowering lives and building a healthier, happier future together.”
