Plumbase Raises Over £2,800 for West Norfolk Autism Group
Fundraising events, including raffles and golf days, have helped a business donate more than £2,800 to a charity, with more funds expected.
Staff at Plumbase in King’s Lynn selected the West Norfolk Autism Group as their charity of the year. They presented a cheque for £2,897 to the charity, which is run by unpaid volunteers who are either parents or caregivers of autistic individuals or are autistic themselves.
The charity expressed surprise when Aaron Webster-Rice, the manager of the Rollesby Road store, presented the large cheque.

Karan McKerrow, chairperson of trustees, said, “We’re absolutely blown away by the magnificent hard work put in by the team at Plumbase. They have raised this incredible sum of money by hosting a whole range of activities with their lovely clients and customers.”
She added, “They are still bringing money in for this, so that isn’t the final sum. What a wonderful team Aaron, Alfie, Arun, and Jamie are. They contributed towards one of our high altitude trampolining sessions as well.”
McKerrow noted, “We don’t receive any central government funding and rely on brilliant people like this to help us provide activities for autistic families in West Norfolk. We couldn’t do this without their generosity. Thank you so much.”
Mr. Webster-Rice mentioned, “We did various events throughout the year such as golf days, a boxing event at Tottenham ground, breakfast mornings, lunches, in-store raffles, and competitions, as well as the big Christmas raffle.”
He explained, “We chose the West Norfolk Autism Group because it is local and has a personal touch for our staff and customers. Nearly everyone knows someone who is autistic and needs support. It would be great if autism gets more support from local businesses, especially when you see the smiles on autistic people’s faces. It’s amazing.”
