Baddesley Clinton in Warwickshire closed again by National Trust due to icy conditions, marking the second closure this year
Baddesley Clinton Closed Again Due to Winter Weather
Baddesley Clinton, managed by the National Trust, is closed today. This is the second closure in recent days since the New Year due to winter weather.
There is no specific weather warning from the Met Office for the medieval manor house in Warwickshire. It is a popular location for National Trust members from Worcestershire.
The manor house was also closed on Friday because of Storm Goretti. An amber snow warning was in effect for Worcestershire and other parts of the region at that time.
A spokesperson for the National Trust stated, “The whole property will be closed today (11/01) due to ice and unsafe conditions. Please check social media and the website for updates on when we will be open again.”
Baddesley Clinton is a 13th-century moated manor house. It served as a sanctuary for the Ferrers family for 500 years and is popular with National Trust members in Worcestershire.
The property is known for its priest holes or hides. It was a vital refuge for persecuted Catholic priests during the Elizabethan era. Through the Ferrers family, the property is linked to the 1605 Gunpowder Plot.
