Bridlington Priory hosted its largest-ever festive dog service, drawing 176 dogs and hundreds of attendees from across the region

Bark the Herald Angels Sing Dog Service Returns to Bridlington Priory
Bridlington Priory was full as the Bark the Herald Angels Sing dog service returned after a yearly break. This event is one of the town’s most loved festive traditions.
The service was led by Rev Neil Bowler. It welcomed visitors with dogs of all shapes and sizes, filling the historic Priory.
This year’s event saw the largest turnout of dogs yet. A spokesperson for the Bridlington RSPCA Branch stated, “We had the largest ever attendance this year with 176 dogs, 251 adults, and 33 children. The Priory was packed.”
They added, “The dogs loved it and the people too. We didn’t quite run out of dog treats and mince pies, but it was a close thing.”
The service’s popularity is growing. Visitors came from Filey, Scarborough, Driffield, and even York to join the celebration.
Organisers and attendees described the evening as a “brilliant night.”
