Traffic and Parking Restrictions in Westcliff

Temporary traffic and parking restrictions are now in place on a Westcliff street for essential water main works.

Southend Council announced a temporary closure and suspension of parking, stopping, waiting, loading, and unloading on Somerset Crescent, between house numbers 12 and 24.

The restrictions start at 8am on January 5, 2026, and will last until 5pm on January 20, 2026, or until the work is completed, weather permitting.

This order is made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to protect the public and work crews during the installation of new water main infrastructure.

Vehicle access will be restricted in the affected area, but emergency services, residents, and pedestrians will have access throughout the closure.

Residents are advised to plan ahead and follow all posted signage during this disruption.

Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence Applications

A logistics company is applying for a Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence to operate in Basildon.

A B Fashions Logistics UK Ltd seeks permission to use DX Freight in Wollaston Way, Burnt Mills Industrial Estate, as a base for three goods vehicles. No trailers are included in this application.

Owners or occupiers of land near the operating centres who believe their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected can make written representations to the Traffic Commissioner at Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7UE.

Representors must send a copy of their representations to the applicant at the same time.

Rochford Licence Application

An application has been submitted for a goods vehicle operator’s licence in Rochford.

Ian McCollum, trading as Ian Removals & Sons Ltd, is applying for a licence to use Unit 4, Great Stambridge Hall, Stambridge Road, as an operating centre for four goods vehicles and two trailers.

The company is based at 137 South Avenue, Southend.

Nearby land and building owners or occupiers concerned about the impact on their property can make written representations to the Traffic Commissioner at Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7UE, within 21 days of this notice.

A copy of the representations should also be sent to the applicant.

The deadline for representations is January 13, 2026.

Southend Business Licence Application

A Southend business has applied for a goods vehicle operator’s licence.

Christopher Bradshaw, trading as Twincliff Scaffolding Ltd, seeks to use Unit F Priory Work in Priory Avenue, Southend, as an operating centre for one goods vehicle.

Nearby residents or landowners who believe their use or enjoyment of their land could be affected have 21 days from the notice’s publication to raise concerns.

These concerns must be sent in writing to the Traffic Commissioner at Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7UE, clearly stating the reasons.

A copy of these concerns must also be sent to Twincliff Scaffolding Ltd at their address.
