Traffic and Parking Restrictions in Westcliff
Temporary traffic and parking restrictions are now in place on a Westcliff street for essential water main works.
Southend Council announced a temporary closure and suspension of parking, stopping, waiting, loading, and unloading on Somerset Crescent, between house numbers 12 and 24.
The restrictions start at 8am on January 5, 2026, and will last until 5pm on January 20, 2026, or until the work is completed, weather permitting.
This order is made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to protect the public and work crews during the installation of new water main infrastructure.
Vehicle access will be restricted in the affected area, but emergency services, residents, and pedestrians will have access throughout the closure.
Residents are advised to plan ahead and follow all posted signage during this disruption.
