Details of Offences

Offender Age Offences Sentence

The first series of offences occurred between January and July 2022 and involved Hamarsha and Guleed. The second series of offences took place between February and July 2025, involving Hamarsha and Hussein. All three were part of a “trap house” in Greenstead, Colchester.

Prosecution and Mitigation

Marc Brown, prosecuting, stated that Guleed had a prior conviction for drug driving from 2023. He is currently serving a sentence of over six years for supplying drugs, including cocaine, MDMA, and cannabis. In July 2022, police discovered a “trap house” on Willingham Way, Greenstead, where drugs, phones, and other items were seized.

Harry Martin, representing Guleed and Hussein, noted a two-year delay in charging Guleed. He mentioned that Hussein was a teenager during the offences and had no prior convictions. James Onalaja, representing Hamarsha, highlighted that Hamarsha is studying actuarial sciences and is seeking political asylum after fleeing Palestine.

Judge’s Sentencing Remarks

Judge David Pugh sentenced Hamarsha, who admitted to being involved in the supply of cannabis, ketamine, and cocaine, to two years and ten months in prison, along with a £228 victim surcharge. Hamarsha may face deportation due to his imprisonable offence while seeking asylum.

Guleed, currently at HMP Norwich, admitted to being involved in the supply of heroin and cocaine. He received a two-year and ten-month sentence, which will run concurrently with his existing sentence for separate drug offences.

Hussein, residing on Great Dover Street, Southwark, received a two-year prison term, suspended for two years, after admitting to being involved in the supply of ketamine, cocaine, and cannabis. He is required to complete 180 hours of unpaid work, attend 20 rehabilitation days, and be on trail monitoring for 12 months.
